Step 0: What do we already know?
We started our research by brainstorming about what we already believe about what makes a school or teacher good or bad:
Before we can write descriptions of schools and districts, we need to get a feel for what information is available and how that information can be used in our descriptions. To do this, we're investigating specific representations of data, e.g. graphs and tables, linked to the www.infoworks.org site, and completing research records in order to share what we find.
Our research records are linked here. (Please name research records "102 Res: TOPIC or QUESTION.")
After exploring the various data sites, we then met in large groups to decide on questions that we need to answer about each school, its district, and its community:
Note: Your reports can include information not in these questions.
Step 3s and 4: Write our draft reports and evaluate a classmate's report.
a. Use the template called "EDC 102 Context Reports F07" to begin your context report from the links below.
b. Use the "EDC 102 Context Report Rubric" TEMPLATE to evaluate a classmate's report who is in your group. (You can preview the rubric here .)
